			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>Week one is over and I must say &#8211; I did pretty well.  The first week of WW is generally pretty successful and people generally experience a big loss but it will level out at about 1-2lbs a week from there.  So although I lost 4.4lbs, I need to stay focused and not get too excited.  At our meeting this week, we talked about the Weight Watchers &#8220;Walk-It&#8221; challenge and I got excited right away.  All you have to do is sign up on this <a href="http://www.teamweightwatchers.com">website</a>, find a 5k happening between June and August, register and enter your race and confirmation number on the website and then you receive a training program and 6 months of Weight Watchers Magazine!!  Why wouldn&#8217;t you sign up?  So I did and my husband signed up for the 5k with me so we&#8217;re going to do it!  I really can&#8217;t wait.  I used to run track in high school and I know I can run a mile straight but I&#8217;m not so sure about 3.1 miles &#8211; I&#8217;m going to have to work my butt off to be able to confidently run that.  I don&#8217;t want to win anything&#8230; I just want to finish strong <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />   Although Weight Watchers teamed up with active.com to provide the training program for the 5k, I think I am going to use my Nike+ training program on my ipod nano.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ll see what happens &#8211; I have been having some major heel problems with my left foot.  I did some research and self-diagnosed myself with Plantar Fasciitis.  I purchased some <a href="http://www.medicalsuppliest.com/freedomandreg-high-impact-accommodatorandtrade">high-impact heel support inserts</a> and a <a href="http://www.medicalsuppliest.com/freedomandreg-dorsal-pf-night-splint">plantar fasciitis night brace</a> which I have been using regularly so I hope that it helps.  If not, I might need to suck it up and see a doctor &#8211; aaaaaand stretch 12 times a day.  awesome.  Wish me luck!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>Well&#8230; after a couple of months of thinking I could do this on my own, I am back with Weight Watchers.  I was able to manage to lose about 8 lbs by myself since December which is awesome&#8230; barely noticeable but awesome.  After experiencing the meetings and tracking my points, I really missed the community and support that Weight Watchers offered.  I definitely do not have a lot to lose but I could stand to take it a few dress sizes down and this time my goal is to get to weight watcher&#8217;s lifetime status.  I enjoy going to the meetings and I really enjoy the entire program so why not become a lifetime member?  Especially because after you become a lifetime member and can maintain your weight, weight watchers is free!  We&#8217;ll see &#8211; I might be a little over zealous but I am going to keep that goal at the top of my list.  After re-starting weight watchers last week, I noticed a bunch of changes to the program that really surprised me.  First of all &#8211; the Core program is totally out of the window.  Instead of checking of what you eat like you would on Core &#8211; everything has a point value and is tracked.  Also, instead of 8 glasses of water &#8211; now it is only 6 glasses of &#8220;liquid&#8221; so does that mean diet soda or sugary juices?<img class="size-full wp-image-259 alignright" title="news-weight-watchers" src="http://theskinnypants.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/news-weight-watchers.png?w=200&#038;h=110" alt="news-weight-watchers" width="200" height="110" /> I would still stick to water just to be safe but it is really interesting.  One change that really got me was the decision to subtract extra points used from your weekly 35 before subtracting from your activity points.  I still need some clarification as to why this happened &#8211; I guess it&#8217;s good that my activity points can roll over from day to day though and I can bank them.  It definitely came in handy this past weekend for Easter <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />   The meeting Leader explained that this was all part of the &#8220;momentum&#8221; program (the little hungry orange monster guy on the commercials) which is a mix of Flex and Core to help guide and teach participants what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat it.  I am excited and ready to go&#8230; now if Weight Watchers would just create and iphone app my life would be even easier!  I&#8217;ll keep ya posted.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>I have written about this before but I thought I would take an opportunity to really focus on it because it&#8217;s awesome.  Lose it! is a free application through itunes that allows you to track your weight loss, <img class="alignright size-full wp-image-253" title="lose it!" src="http://theskinnypants.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/original.png?w=100&#038;h=100" alt="lose it!" width="100" height="100" />food, calories and even nutrients daily to help you reach your goals.  It&#8217;s really simple too &#8211; to start off you just record your current weight, goal weight and how many pounds you would like to lose each week and the program then calculates how many calories you should have each day to help you reach your goal.  You can also input your exercise and it will give you back calories that you have earned.  My favorite part of this application is the extensive database of food and exercises that you use to manage your calorie intake &#8211; they have everything!  You can also add items on your own if you can&#8217;t find it anywhere including recipes,<img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-255" title="loseit-apps1" src="http://theskinnypants.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/loseit-apps1.gif?w=500&#038;h=215" alt="loseit-apps1" width="500" height="215" /> and restaurant menu items.   Anyways, I use it everyday and it is a lot like Weight Watcher&#8217;s Online as far as the  tracking goes.   I highly recommend this application for anyone with an iphone / itouch to help you reach your goals &#8211; it totally helps me out!</p>
