Heart rates and such…

Everyone always talks about heart rate monitors on the weight watcher message boards and so I decided to start searching for some that aren’t a million dollars and that look decent.  I went online and found this website that carries primarily boating supplies (www.marineboatsupplies.com) but it also has a huge line of heart rate monitors that were really cheap – I couldn’t find better prices anywhere.  Even in-store, heart rate monitors can range from like $30-$1,000.  Anyways, I think I am going to get this one to start off.  It also measures calories and is made for a woman (AND it’s Carolina Blue – doesn’t get much better) so I’m going to give it a go and report back after I’ve used it for a while.

I walk a ton during the work day – I work on an urban college campus so I am constantly walking across campus and across town to get things done so having a heart rate monitor would probably help out a ton in figuring out how many Activity Points (APs) I earn during the day.  I usually just look it up with the Activity Tracker online but it might be better (and more accurate) to use a heart rate monitor.

I’ll keep you updated with how this heart rate monitor works!

  1. Loking forward to the update! Hope you get a new pedometer soon, thanks for the link! As far as that apple pie goes, that is something made with love that won’t always be available. I say in that case, calories temporarily dissapear! Have a good week!

  2. I’ve always wondered about those heart monitors myself. Maybe I’ll check it out.

    Thanks!
